Job summary

Golden Aluminum in Fort Lupton, CO is seeking a Quality/Process Engineer to develop and maintain ISO 9001 quality systems and drive process improvements across manufacturing.

Responsibilities include investigating customer concerns, leading root cause analysis, implementing KPIs, and guiding supervisors to adopt new quality procedures. A strong Six Sigma/Lean background and experience in heavy manufacturing are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering required.
  • 5+ years direct experience as a quality or process engineer in manufacturing; metals preferred.
  • 2+ years experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing industry highly desired.
  • In depth knowledge of implementing statistical and process control tools in a production environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in an industrial environment.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience required; Greenbelt certification required; Blackbelt certification preferred.
  • Previous QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary
  • Strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills. Must be able to effectively present logical information in a structured fashion to different levels of the organization and customer base.

  • Train line supervisors and operators on changes in procedures to improve product quality.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to support productivity and cost initiatives.
  • Maintain the QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Manage the internal audit program.
  • Identify and communicate deficiencies in the quality assurance program and present them periodically to management along with plans to address the shortcomings.
  • Develop quality specifications for raw material, vendor supplied parts, specialties, fabricated parts and finished products.
  • Oversee and guide root cause analysis for product defects and process variation.
  • Initiate preventive measures in the manufacturing process when identified by customer concerns.
  • Oversee daily task assignments of direct reports as well as supervise and prioritize tasks as necessary to ensure schedule compliance.
  • Review and approve all revisions to the internal process procedures and quality system procedures to assure that documentation meets current regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Represent company during all customer and regulatory audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization using Six Sigma methods.
  • All other duties assigned.

Compensation: $125,000+ depending on qualifications

Job Summary

Develops and maintains all quality assurance standards and processes. This includes, but is not limited to ISO, customer concerns, research and development and inspection processes.
