Job summary

Golden Aluminum in Fort Lupton, Colorado, seeks a Quality Assurance/Process Engineer to develop and maintain QA standards, drive ISO 9001 compliance, and lead continuous improvement across manufacturing. You will investigate customer concerns, train supervisors, and establish KPIs to boost product quality and efficiency.

The role requires a BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing QA/process, and Six Sigma with Green Belt; Black Belt preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in a manufacturing environment; metals industry experience preferred.
  • 2+ years experience leading a team of professionals.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience required; Greenbelt certification required; Blackbelt certification preferred.
  • Previous QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary

Responsibilities

  • Investigate customer complaints; collaborate with other management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Train line supervisors and operators on changes in procedures to improve product quality.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to support productivity and cost initiatives.
  • Maintain the QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Manage the internal audit program.
  • Identify and communicate deficiencies in the quality assurance program and present them with plans to address.
  • Develop quality specifications for raw material, vendor supplied parts, specialties, fabricated parts and finished products.
  • Oversee and guide root cause analysis for product defects and process variation.
  • Initiate preventive measures in the manufacturing process when identified by customer concerns.
  • Oversee daily task assignments of direct reports as well as supervise and prioritize tasks as necessary to ensure schedule compliance.
  • Review and approve all revisions to the internal process procedures and quality system procedures to assure that documentation meets current regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Represent company during all customer and regulatory audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization using Six Sigma methods.
  • All other duties assigned.

Compensation:

$125,000+ depending on qualifications

Job Summary

Develops and maintains all quality assurance standards and processes. This includes, but is not limited to ISO, customer concerns, research and development and inspection processes.

Requirements
  • BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is required
  • 5+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in a manufacturing environment; metals industry experience preferred
  • 2+ years experience leading a team of professionals
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing industry highly desired
  • In depth knowledge of implementing statistical and process control tools in a production environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in an industrial environment.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience required; Greenbelt certification required; Blackbelt certification preferred.
  • Previous QA manual and procedures to satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Experience writing new or revised procedures. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary
  • Strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills. Must be able to effectively present logical information in a structured fashion to different levels of the organization and customer base.
