Quality Manager
Dayton, OH | On-site

Build the team. Shape the strategy. Drive lasting improvement.

Snyder Executive Search is partnering with an established manufacturer to recruit a Quality Manager for its Dayton facility. This is an opportunity to help shape the site’s quality strategy, strengthen its systems, and develop a team supporting complex, precision-driven manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll lead quality engineering, inspection, testing, and quality systems. The company is investing in its operations and needs a proactive leader who can turn quality objectives into measurable improvements in customer satisfaction, operational performance, and cost.

The Opportunity

This role offers direct access to site leadership and a meaningful voice in the facility’s future. You'll establish a long-term quality roadmap, build your team’s capabilities, and work closely with customers and internal departments to prevent problems and improve performance.

The right candidate combines technical credibility with strong people leadership and a practical, hands-on approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and improve the ISO-based quality management system, including certification activities, internal audits, and corrective actions.

  • Develop a multi-year quality strategy with clear priorities, milestones, and measurable goals.

  • Lead, coach, and develop quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors.

  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, managing quality reviews, concerns, and corrective action responses.

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to strengthen process controls and quality accountability.

  • Oversee inspection and testing throughout production, identifying risks before they affect customers.

  • Improve supplier quality through qualification, performance monitoring, and development.

  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable improvement initiatives to reduce defects, shorten corrective action cycles, and lower the cost of poor quality.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of progressive quality experience, including management responsibility and direct leadership of a quality team.

  • Experience in complex manufacturing involving precision machining, automated assembly, or similarly demanding production processes.

  • Strong ISO quality management system expertise, with demonstrated success improving systems and supporting certifications.

  • The technical ability to assess manufacturing quality issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions.

  • A record of measurable results through continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Strong customer communication skills, including experience leading quality reviews and resolving escalations.

  • Proven ability to develop people, establish expectations, and build a capable, accountable team.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field is preferred.

Additional strengths include experience with tight-tolerance manufacturing, specialized quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 13485, and ASQ or Lean Six Sigma certification.

What Success Looks Like

During your first year, you'll strengthen the quality management system, improve customer communication, reduce recurring quality issues, and establish clear supplier performance expectations. You'll also develop a practical long-term quality roadmap and growth plans for your team.
