Job summary

Avon Technologies is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Engineering team at the Cleveland, OH site. You will drive quality initiatives across Value Streams, ensuring robust workmanship standards and sustained training to meet production goals.

You will guide corrective actions, CAPA, and continuous improvement efforts, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, engaging cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred.
  • Relevant industrial experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and train a high performing Quality Team with regular feedback and coaching.
  • Monitor Scrap, MRB, Non-Conformance, and In-Process Correction by Value Stream.
  • Deliver targeted improvements for scrap, MRB, non-conformance and in-process correction.
  • Standardize quality standards and processes across Value Streams.
  • Lead Customer Complaints, CAPA and Root Cause Analysis for sustainable improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
  • Support and/or Lead Quality Kaizen.
  • Support New Product Introduction.

Purpose of Position

The Quality Manager, as driver of execution and best practice, is responsible for leading the Quality Engineering team, ensuring that Quality is systematically, proactively, and collaboratively embedded into the Value Streams, whilst delivering against Quality initiatives and projects.
They develop and lead a high performing team, that delivers certainty into production through maintained workmanship standards and sustained feedback and training. Scrap, MRB, non-conformance, and in-process correction is monitored. Trends are reported. Problem areas are targeted and appropriate action is taken to ensure production goals are met. Risk to customer, product, schedule, or supply chain are escalated into Quality and Operations leadership. Customer complaints, corrective actions, improvement opportunities, and complex problem solving activities are lead. Quality standards and processes are standardized across Value Streams.

Role Purpose
  • Lead, develop, and train a high performing Quality Team, including regular feedback, coaching, and counseling where necessary
  • Scrap, MRB, Non-Conformance, and In-Process Correction is monitored and reported by Value Stream
  • Deliver targeted improvement towards Scrap, MRB, Non-Conformance, and In-Process Correction by Value Stream
  • Standardize quality standards and processes across Value Streams
  • Lead Customer Complaints, Corrective & Preventative Action, and Root Cause Analysis resulting in sustainable Quality improvements
  • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement
  • Support and/or Lead Quality Kaizen
  • Support New Product Introduction
  • Safety observations are quickly communicated and escalated where necessary
Desired Skills
  • Management and/or leadership experience
  • Strong statistical & analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with statistical software such as SQC Pack or Minitab®
  • Proficient in structured root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO-9000 Quality Management Systems and supplier, process, and internal audit
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP
  • Knowledge of measurement, inspection, testing and calibration methods, including experience with Gage R&R
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to deliver in fast paced and changing manufacturing environment
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Office applications such as outlook, teams, word, excel and power point is required
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality certification preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor preferred
  • Or relevant industrial experience

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $95,000 to $125,000 annually The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
