Job summary

April Quest in Bradford is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to drive quality across manufacturing and the product lifecycle, embedding quality into operations from the outset.

You will lead day-to-day quality activities, support CAPA and internal audits, and collaborate with production, engineering and suppliers to reduce defects and improve process capability.

This is a growth-focused role with ownership of the QMS and opportunities for progression within a proactive quality culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience within a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Strong ISO9001 knowledge and quality systems.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on, proactive problem-solver.
  • Ability to influence operations teams and drive change.
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge required.
  • ISO14001 exposure desirable.
  • Electronics/PCB/manufacturing exposure desirable.
  • Supplier quality experience desirable.

Responsibilities

Overview

A growing manufacturing business in Bradford is looking for a hands‑on Quality Manager to help drive the next stage of its quality and operational development. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer looking to step into a broader leadership role with real ownership, visibility, and progression potential.

Role Focus

Rather than simply maintaining compliance, this role is focused on embedding quality throughout the manufacturing and product lifecycle, improving process, driving continuous improvement, and helping build a proactive quality culture across the business. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and leadership teams to improve process capability, reduce defects, strengthen quality systems and ensure quality is built into operations from the outset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day quality and compliance activities across manufacturing operations
  • Drive process improvement, defect reduction, and root cause analysis activities
  • Support and develop the company’s QMS and compliance systems

Requirements

  • Someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams and influencing change
  • Lean / Six Sigma understanding (required)
  • ISO14001 exposure (desirable)
  • Electronics, PCB, or engineering manufacturing experience (desirable)
  • Supplier quality experience (desirable)
