Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Manager of Quality Management in Northampton, MA onsite to lead quality programs across manufacturing, engineering and suppliers. You will drive continuous improvement, oversee PFMEA/DFMEA activities and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of quality leadership experience, strong analytical abilities and excellent communication. Onsite schedule with collaboration across functions is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of experience.
  • At least 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in creating and maturing quality management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Understand AIAG methodology, PPAPs, supplier quality performance, and source inspections.
  • Experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards. Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes, tools, procedures, and policies.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and policies to ensure that products or services meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to quality control processes, identifying trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality control personnel, providing guidance, coaching, support and development as needed.
  • Communicate with other teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure that quality control processes are aligned with business objectives.
  • Perform audits of quality control processes, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Manage and maintain quality control documentation, ensuring that all necessary records and reports are accurate, up-to-date, and retained for the required periods.
  • Train team members on quality control processes, procedures, and policies, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to develop and implement new products or services, ensuring that quality control processes are integrated into the development process.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices related to quality control and assurance, sharing knowledge and insights with team members and stakeholders. Partner with peers across the Sector to share best practices.
  • Review new contracts to determine the quality assurance requirements and flow down requirements to the appropriate departments or personnel within the division. Develop plans and methods for assigned programs to assure adherence to all contractual quality requirements and Division policies and procedures.
  • Prepare progress or status reports as required. Confer with Program Managers on progress, cause and corrective action, risk mitigation plans and support cost reduction programs. Schedule and control the completion of program specific quality assurance tasks, follow up quality assurance action items and assure all quality contract requirements are met.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to establish aligned goals and objectives to ensure mission success.
  • Coordinate and lead the resolution of non‑conformances, including MRB, root cause analysis, developing and implementing corrective actions and verifying effectiveness of corrective actions taken for assigned programs.
  • Participate in and/or lead DFMEA’s, PFMEA’s, and LHXcellence improvement events as required.
  • Oversee quality team is involved in Engineering design reviews, review engineering drawings for conformance to quality requirements and sign off on approved drawings. Verify test requirements and assist Engineering in the development of test procedures and the design of test equipment. Assist in resolving inspection, test method and test equipment non‑compliance. Review and approve test methods and procedures submitted by vendors (as applicable).
  • Assign PO Quality clauses for piece parts, assemblies and electrical components and assist purchasing and subcontracts in vetting new suppliers.
  • Perform on site surveillance and audits of major suppliers and source inspect major components and subsystems. Perform AS9100 audit tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve business objectives.
