Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Quality Manager for Machining Manufacturing in Huntsville, AL to lead quality control across machined parts, assemblies and flight hardware fabrication. You will champion continuous improvement, manage a quality team, and drive defect reduction with robust SPC and ASQ/ANSI sampling practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience.
• 8 years of experience in QA/QC systems implementation and/or management in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment with machining processes understanding.
• Experience in a QMS compliant with AS9100/ISO9001.
• Understanding measurement techniques and managing a CMM/inspection lab.
• K** Strong problem solving skills.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance.
• Residence in or willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL area.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary quality control authority for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Manages Quality Engineers, Quality Inspectors and Precision Measurement staff.
• Plan staffing for Quality to meet manufacturing requirements and delegate to Quality Engineer/Technician/Inspector staff.
• Establish and mature a robust Statistical Process Control program and sampling per ASQ/ANSI standards.
• Establish metrics to monitor quality control system effectiveness and lead root-cause analysis for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers and manufacturing to identify quality improvements and feedback loops.
• Oversee audits, supplier/customer interfaces, and budget management for the quality department.
• This role manages all quality control employees within a machining plant and is responsible for performance management and hiring.
