Job summary

AV8 MRO in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function across FAA and EASA requirements for landing gear overhaul, repair, and PMA parts development.

The role reports to the Site Leader and partners with Production, Engineering, and Procurement to balance customer commitments with regulatory compliance and operational performance. Strong Chief Inspector background is preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years aerospace quality experience, including leadership within an FAA Part 145 repair station.
• Strong FAA regulatory experience with oversight, inspection, and airworthiness requirements.
• Experience with FAA Part 145 MRO operations and/or FAA PMA development.
• Technical purchasing experience and managing an approved vendor program.
• Hands-on leadership of quality teams in production/repair environments.
• Ability to read blueprints and airworthiness data.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve FAA- and EASA-regulated Quality Management System.
• Coordinate audits with FAA, EASA, and customers.
• Maintain RSM and RSQCM documentation and procedures.
• Act as Chief Inspector for FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
• Evaluate PMA/alternate parts for landing gear installation eligibility.
• Oversee PMA program with Engineering collaboration.
• Manage Approved Supplier/Vendor Program.
• Chair MRB for disposition of non-conforming material.
• Lead and develop the quality team.
• Drive CAPA with root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Balance quality with schedule and commitments.
• Track quality metrics and report to leadership and customers.
• Communicate quality concerns to customers as needed.
