Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging in Wilson, NC is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure products meet quality standards through testing during manufacturing. The role includes visual inspections, material inspections, and flagging non-conforming items to maintain quality control on the production line.

Job description

Principle Accountabilities:

• Responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards.
• Perform visual inspection on all products and place non-conforming product on hold.
• Conduct inspection of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods, checking for quality and that they meet necessary specifications.
• Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols and standard test methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to the specifications and control limits in place while providing recommendations on the appropriateness of data.
• Complete documentation necessary for the support of testing procedures.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated, validated, and maintained properly.
• Support and adhere to all system procedures and company policies/procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all safety regulations.
• Report all accidents or near misses.
• Adhere to all environmental and quality standards.
• Any other tasks that may be necessary to meet the production schedule in a safe and efficient manner.
