Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries’ Bay City site is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support quality lab operations, including testing finished products and raw materials, data entry, and product disposition. The role emphasizes hands-on testing, collaboration with QA and production, and flexibility to assist as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum two years in a technical lab is preferred, with strong math and mechanical aptitude and proficiency in Excel and basic software.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a technical lab role preferred.
• Experience with compounding operations and materials preferred.
• Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and basic computer applications.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform finished product and in-process material testing.
• Review raw material certifications and approvals.
• Enter data accurately and maintain test records.
• Support product disposition and quarantine activities.
• Operate test equipment such as Instron and viscometers.
• Prepare, mold and test product samples per procedures.
• Collaborate with QA, production and site leadership.
• Provide production support as needed, including operator duties.
