Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician at our Chester site to ensure materials meet quality specs and support continuous improvement. You'll operate analytical equipment, record results in SAP, and help resolve quality issues affecting batches.

You will work closely with process engineers, maintain lab hygiene, and contribute to safer, more efficient manufacturing in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Safe and environmentally minded in an industrial setting.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Team-oriented with self-direction and initiative.
• Knowledge of lab operations, testing or basic chemistry.
• Manufacturing or chemical processing experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory and analytical equipment to evaluate product quality.
• Participate in safety programs and maintain a safe work environment.
• Record results and batch adjustments in SAP.
• Assist in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
• Support process engineers with data analyses and investigations.
• Assist customer service with timely resolution of complaints and quality breaches.
• Collaborate with other facilities to share best maintenance practices.
