Job summary

Synthomer plc in Chester, SC is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to perform quality testing and adjustments on materials including latex polymers and resins, ensuring compliance with specifications. You will operate analytical equipment and record results in SAP.

The role supports process engineers, investigates quality issues, participates in safety programs, and helps drive continuous improvement across manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is a plus.
  • Knowledge of lab operations or basic chemistry background.
  • Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing preferred.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate laboratory and analytical equipment to evaluate product quality.
  • Report results and adjustments to batches in process in SAP.
  • Record results in SAP Quality Module accurately and promptly.
  • Support process engineers with data analyses for investigations.
  • Collaborate with other facilities to share best practices.
  • Verify certificates of analysis for raw materials on receipt.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment as assigned.
  • Assist customer service with complaints and quality breaches.
  • Participate in safety programs and support continuous improvement projects.

These materials include latex polymers, wax dispersions, polymeric resins, other related materials and some raw materials. The Quality Laboratory Technician will also support continuous improvement for customer satisfaction and product quality.
