Job summary

SGS Consulting in Orangeburg, SC seeks a Laboratory Analyst to perform routine analytical testing on oil and biomass samples in a GLP environment. You will follow SOPs, assist with sample prep, and relay shift information to maintain quality and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a science field preferred; associates with 2+ years accepted.
Experience in a GLP laboratory setting and high attention to detail required.
Gas chromatography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow SOPs, JSA, and work instructions as written.
Plan, organize and share workload to support department operations.
Relay pertinent information during shift changeover.
Promote a cooperative team environment through professional communication.
Support Kaizen events and 5S initiatives.
Perform routine analytical testing on oil and biomass samples (FFA, Peroxide Value, moisture).
Assist with sample prep, tanker release inspections, and document deviations.
Accurately record and report data; maintain cGMP documentation practices.
Manage lab reagents, inventory, and hazardous waste streams.
Execute directions from management and report quality deviations.
