Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a quality control laboratory professional in Wheeling, IL to ensure tests meet specifications and to manage batch data in electronic records. The role supports ISO management systems and safety protocols, while maintaining lab supplies and preparing necessary documentation.

Preferred candidates have chemistry-related education and at least one year of QC lab or manufacturing/ distribution experience, with the ability to train others and handle confidential

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tests are completed and results meet all specifications before going to the next production process.
• Enter all batch data into the electronic batch records system.
• Generate appropriate paperwork as needed per customer specifications.
• Gather and send customer samples as required.
• Utilize appropriate computer systems to ensure effective testing of products.
• Determine disposition of non-conforming finished goods.
• Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.
• Support the ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies.
• Identify and communicate product issues to other departments as needed.
• Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for Quality Department to meet ISO requirements.
• Assist in training of other lab technicians as needed.

Schedule: 6:00pm - 6:30am 2, 2, 3 Rotating Schedule

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a quality control laboratory
• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
• Have an associate's degree or higher in Chemistry
