Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in Garland, TX is seeking a Quality Control Technician responsible for maintaining QC processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results to ensure Sherwin products meet specifications. The technician will interpret results and provide production with adjustments as needed.

Additionally, duties include data entry into the batch records system, generating required paperwork, and supporting ISO management systems.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience in a quality control laboratory preferred.
• Night shift availability (6:00pm–6:00am) with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tests are completed and results meet specifications before proceeding.
• Enter batch data into the electronic batch records system.
• Generate paperwork per customer specifications.
• Gather and send customer samples as required.
• Utilize computer systems to effectively test products.
• Determine disposition of non-conforming finished goods.
• Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.
• Support ISO Management Systems and Safety Systems.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies.
• Identify and communicate product issues to other departments.
• Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for Quality Department to meet ISO requirements.
• Assist in training of other lab technicians.

Job description

This position is responsible for maintaining quality control processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results gathered to ensure Sherwin products meet quality specifications. This position is responsible for testing production batches according to specific written testing methods and identifying issues with both in-spec and out-of-spec data. The technician will interpret results and historical data to ensure the product meets or exceeds the customer requirements for quality, as well as provide instructions to production personnel regarding adjustments to batches as needed.

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Additional Information:

Schedule: Night Shift 6:00pm - 6:00am Rotating Weekends

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a quality control laboratory
• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
• Have an associate's degree or higher in Chemistry
