Job summary

Ottenweller Company in Fort Wayne, IN, is hiring a Quality/Process Inspector to manage corrective actions and nonconforming material reports. You will perform root-cause analyses, support long-term actions, and ensure only tested parts move forward.

You will train staff on inspection procedures, conduct in-process audits with CMM and ROMER equipment, and coordinate cross-department efforts to uphold the Quality System Plan. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 2–3 years part inspection experience with blueprint reading.
  • Solid background in Quality System procedures, 8-D actions, root-cause analysis and mistake-proofing preferred.

  • Interacts with customers to resolve problems using team-based approaches.
  • Trains workers in inspection and testing procedures to ensure quality.
  • Trains cross-functional teams on the Quality System Plan.
  • Performs sampling and part approval inspection to meet customer requirements.

Job description



  • Documents and completes all internal and external requests for Corrective Action as well as all nonconforming materials reports.

  • Investigates and documents root-cause analysis and initiates and completes long-term actions.

  • Controls the non-conforming area to ensure that all non-conforming product is adequately reviewed for possible rework or scrap. Ensures no product is allowed to continue in the production process unless adequately tested to meet all customer requirements.

  • Acts as the Element Champion for ISO

  • Generates weekly reports detailing current nonconformances and all external issues.

  • Coordinates problem-solving efforts to ensure that all aspects of any problem are reviewed and acted upon to conform to the quality system plan.

  • Interacts with customers to ascertain problems and complaints with the objective to resolve these problems and complaints using team-oriented problem-solving techniques.

  • Trains workers in the inspection and testing procedures necessary to ensure the quality of the operations being performed.

  • Interacts among all departments to ensure that they know and understand the Quality System Plan.

  • Trains department co-workers in proper root-cause analysis for cross-functional team development. Performs all sampling and part approval inspection necessary to meet customer requirements.



Performs In-Process audits and inspection to ensure parts are being correctly produced and proper procedures are followed by Production.
Performs calibration and properly operates equipment such as CMM, Romer, etc.



Qualifications:



High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years part inspection experience with knowledge of blueprint reading and use of equipment. A solid background in Quality System procedures is needed, along with experience in 8-d corrective actions, root-cause analysis and mistake-proofing is preferred
