Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline preferred.
• 2+ years in Food Plant QA required.
• 2+ years production experience may substitute for QA.
• Strong analytical, computer or scientific skills preferred.
• Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to properly understand and relay important safety and quality information.
• Ability to make and keep detailed and complete records.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized quality sampling and analysis during production and report variances.
• Analyze incoming, in-process and finished materials using analytical procedures.
• Uphold safety practices and report hazards to management.
• Isolate non-conforming ingredients and document Hold procedures.
• Follow work instructions pertaining to Quality, Environment, Safety and Food Safety.
• Support ISO-GFSI, FDA-FSMA regulatory requirements and food safety programs.
• Stop production if out-of-spec or safety issues are observed when necessary.
• Monitor plant sanitation and personal hygiene per GMPs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot water treatment and wastewater systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean programs.
• Pursue continuous development of technical and personal skills.
• Review documents for HFCS, crystalline fructose, CO2, nitrogen and caustic.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment and assist QA management on projects.
