Job Summary: Performs process control testing for chemical processing tanks and paint shop. May perform other duties related to quality.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms process control testing including salt spray testing and paint adhesion testing (both wet and dry adhesion).Calculates etch rates on alkaline etch tanks daily and deoxidizer tanks weekly.Performs solution analysis on all process tanks as needed.Calculates and makes additions to tanks to maintain proper concentrations.Performs coating weight test on chemical conversion (chem film) tank.Disperses coupons bi-weekly to heat treat.Polishes and processes 7075 IA coupons for IGA tests.Mixes copper sulfate solution for passivation testing.Tests salt spray solution from collection cylinders.Calibrates pH meter.Performs daily accuracy checks on ohaus analytical balance.Performs titrtion analysis of chemical concentrations.NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains laboratory following standard practices.Orders and maintains stock for chemicals and supplies.Adds chemicals to tanks as needed.Maintains solutions analysis logs.Maintains and monitors inventory of lab chemicals.Mounts, polishes, and etches metallurgical samples as required.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned task satisfactorily.
