Job summary

Actalent seeks a Quality Laboratory Supervisor to manage daily QC lab operations in a chemical manufacturing setting. The role directs lab technicians, validates data, supports investigations, and partners with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to uphold product quality and efficient manufacturing processes.

You will oversee calibration, data integrity, and compliance with SOPs and GMP, while advancing continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration in a third-shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years in quality, laboratory, or manufacturing roles.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience with direct reports is preferred.
• Hands-on GC experience and familiarity with ICP-MS or elemental analysis.
• Experience with XRF, rheology, and viscosity testing.
• Proficient with LIMS and ERP systems and strong documentation practices.
• Knowledge of GMP and quality systems in manufacturing or labs.
• Ability to interpret analytical data and ensure specification compliance.
• Strong leadership and ability to coach laboratory staff.
• Excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor lab personnel, including scheduling and training.
• Oversee daily lab operations to ensure timely testing of materials and products.
• Review and approve test results in line with SOPs and specs.
• Support investigations into quality issues with root cause analysis.
• Maintain calibration and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
• Ensure accurate documentation and records per quality systems.
• Enforce safety practices and good housekeeping in the lab.
• Support audits with data, documentation, and testing explanations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for efficiency and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams on issues.
• Ensure proper use of LIMS, ERP, and other documentation tools.
