Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Wisconsin is offering a Quality Internship for 8-12 weeks during Summer 2027. You will work alongside our Quality Engineers in a remanufacturing facility, supporting quality improvement, lean manufacturing initiatives, and data-driven problem solving.

This role is ideal for engineering students entering junior or senior year (Fall 2027) pursuing Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering Technology.

Qualifications

• Current engineering student entering junior or senior year in fall 2027.
• Pursuing Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering programs.
• Interest in problem solving, lean manufacturing, and automotive industry.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and complete problem-solving projects aligning with quality goals.
• Support development and improvement of remanufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for internal and customer quality issues.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, process deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop work instructions, SOPs, and error proofing devices for quality processes.
• Prepare reports and present findings to engineering and operations leadership.

Job Description: Quality Internship Overview: As an Intern with our Quality Team you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our experienced Quality Engineers in the Manufacturing setting. Interns support quality improvement and process engineering initiatives within one of our remanufacturing facilities, ensuring adherence to standards, reducing scrap/rework, and enhancing process reliability. This internship is ideal for engineering students with an interest in problem solving, the automotive industry, and lean manufacturing. *This internship is during the summer of 2027, 8-12 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and complete problem-solving projects that align with Transmission, Gas Engine, Division quality goals
• Support the development and improvement of remanufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency
• Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for internal and customer quality issues
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, process deviations, and opportunities for improvement
• Develop work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and error proofing devices for quality processes
• Prepare reports and present findings to engineering and operations leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

• This internship is for college students entering their junior or senior year in fall 2027, pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering Technology / Engineering
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Solid Modeling Software
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment
• Knowledge or experience working on Gas Engines and/or Transmissions is preferred
