Job summary

PennEngineering is seeking motivated, excited, and innovative students for our 2027 intern program. As an intern at PennEngineering, you’ll gain hands‑on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.

Join us as we build the future in Engineering! Over the course of our 10–12-week summer internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real world problems.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support quality engineers in daily activities related to production, product quality, and process improvement.
  • Assist with quality inspections, data collection, and measurement analysis to ensure product conformance.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and CAPA activities.
  • Help maintain and improve quality documentation, including inspection procedures, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of quality metrics and assist in reporting trends.
  • Support internal audits and preparation for customer or regulatory audits.
  • Learn and utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to solve problems and optimize processes.
  • Work on special projects assigned by quality leadership, with an emphasis on learning and practical application.
