Job summary

EIMCo is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform First-Piece, in-process, and final inspections, calibrate inspection tools, and train staff in using inspection equipment. The role requires reading blueprints and customer documents, investigating quality issues, and ensuring compliance with the Quality Manual.

Candidates should have mechanical skills and welding experience; a manufacturing background is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical skills background required.
  • One to two years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
  • Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform First-Piece, In-Process, and Final Inspections following production demands.
  • Calibrate tools and inspection equipment and document results.
  • Train and instruct employees on using and caring for quality inspection equipment.
  • Assist employees in interpreting blueprints and customer-quality documents.
  • Investigate quality issues and troubleshoot concerns.
  • Operate and program CMM equipment.
  • Interpret and reference quality standards and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate daily records for each job inspected.
  • Follow instructions from ship travelers, inspection sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform QC Manager and shift supervisor of problems with parts.
  • Conduct 1st article inspections and PPAPs per customer requirements.
  • Maintain responsibility for quality and perform inspections per Quality Manual.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report problems promptly.
  • Maintain clean work area and comply with 5S and PPE safety policies.
  • Maintain documentation and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts, and scrap) for every job inspected on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
  • Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Ship Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform the Quality Control Manager and shift supervisor/lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
  • Conducts 1st article inspections and PPAP's per the customer's requirements.
  • Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections under the EIMCo Quality Manual.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
  • Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and comply with all 5S procedures. Safely conduct all tasks and behavior s and comply with all EICMo Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual.
  • Maintain all required documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to routinely bend and squat.

Education and Experience

Working Conditions
  • This is a safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. The temperature of the facility will vary based on the outside weather conditions. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
