Job summary

EIMCo in Farley, IA is seeking a reliable CNC operator to produce parts on CNC machines, set up parts for various production jobs, and verify quality per specifications.

You will document daily production records, follow shop travelers and inspection sheets, test programs after setup, and collaborate with the team to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial/manufacturing experience.
  • Crane certification is required.
  • Training may substitute formal education with demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

  • Check with the designated lead on machine and job assignment.
  • Set up parts for different production jobs.
  • Produce parts on CNC machines according to specs and tolerances.
  • Test machines after the Programmer sets up a new program.
  • Unload and package parts per EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
  • Complete accurate daily records for each job in Shop Travelers and ERP.
  • Follow Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform quality control and shift lead of issues with parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe 5S work area and comply with PPE policies.

Job description

  • Check with the designated lead person on machine assignment and job assignment.
  • Discuss the machine's performance with current operators from the preceding shift and any possible difficulties encountered during the shift.
  • Produce parts on CNC machines according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.
  • Set up parts for different production jobs.
  • Test out machines after the Programmer has set up a new program.
  • Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements.
  • Complete accurate daily records (date, time, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
  • Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
  • Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
  • Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections under the EIMCo Quality Manual.
  • Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
  • Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and comply with all 5S procedures.
  • Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all EIMCO Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual.
  • Maintain all required documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supports team development by training teammates and sharing expertise to improve overall department capability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mechanical background and machine operating experience are helpful
  • A willingness to learn and be trained on the EIMCo manufacturing process
  • General skills with hand and power tools
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects
  • Prior CNC experience

Physical Requirements:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred. Crane certification is required. Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.

Working Conditions:

This is a safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
