Qualifications

Job description

The QA Inspector works in a team to achieve warehouse goals and performs duties like shipping, packing, loading, unloading, and sorting. They are responsible for quality control and timely completion of production tasks. This role coordinates daily production with Operations & Quality Leadership Teams and interfaces with other departments as needed. They conduct quality inspections of materials and processes, using both system solutions as well as measuring and test equipment, determine quality acceptance decisions, and carry out necessary follow-up actions where appropriate.

YOUR TASKS
  1. Meet daily quality inspection goals per program.
  2. Accurately perform work and complete it in a timely manner.
  3. Monitor and ensure daily orders are completed to meet established service levels.
  4. Record inspection information and results onto inspection forms/scanners.
  5. Communicate production needs and issues to other departments via multiple channels.
  6. Assist with controlling, documenting, processing, and disposition of non-conforming material, product, or equipment according to the defined non-conformance process.
  7. Assist Quality Manager with data entry and QMS Compliance, including research for Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Non-conformances.
  8. Ensure correct materials and documents are being used.
  9. Ensure final production meets customer specifications.
  10. Ship orders using various systems when required.
  11. Perform batch record review and coordinate issues with Lead or area Manager.
  12. Adhere to the company’s Quality Policy Statement and participate in the Quality Management System.
  13. Act as a backup to Lead when necessary.
  14. Verify that production staff are following documented quality control procedures.
  15. Escalate any procedure problems found or potential issues that may result in sub-standard product.
  16. Work with Operations Leadership to develop daily and weekly production forecasts and plans for imminent or active projects/jobs on the production floor.
  17. Inspect materials in the receiving department for shipping damage and other customer requirements.
  18. Inspect distribution packaging process to ensure deliveries match ordered contents.
  19. Inspect operations process first articles to ensure materials and quantities match work instructions.
  20. Conduct process audits to ensure operations processes are set up correctly, record data, and follow up as necessary.
  21. Conduct out-of-box audit inspections, record data, and take action as necessary for quality concerns.
  22. Inspect shipping paperwork to ensure quantities and materials queued for shipping are correct.
  23. Continuously support departmental process improvements.
  24. Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations.
  25. Follow and maintain 5S Program and guidelines.
YOUR PROFILE
  • High School diploma or GED (required).
  • Customer quality-focused, committed to exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook for daily communication, data entry and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills: reading, writing, and speaking fluently in English.
  • Basic visual skills to quickly distinguish between minor differences in similar materials.
  • Basic math skills to quickly count exact material quantities using a weigh scale if needed.
  • Good attendance, self-starter, and ability to work independently.
  • Adaptable to change for cross-training on QA assignments and new customer requirements.
  • Adaptable to new work assignments with the ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts as required.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment a plus.
  • Computer skills not required initially but are willing and able to learn: Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SAP.
  • Knowledge of 6S, ISO 9001 2008/2015 preferred. Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt, ASQ Certifications, quality inspection experience.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Organizational skills for handling multiple tasks in an orderly manner.
