Job description

Job Summary

Inspects for and promotes cGMP and SOP compliance in production and the warehouse. Reviews documents for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Inspects production facility and personnel for cGMP and SOP compliance. Checks work area for cleanliness, organization, cross contamination issues, dress code, proper equipment and utensil use, storage, etc. Notifies appropriate personnel of non-compliance and follows up for correction.
  2. Inspects warehouse facility and personnel for cGMP and SOP compliance. Notifies proper personnel of non-compliance and follows up for correction.
  3. Inspects documentation for completion, accuracy, and compliance with SOPs. These include manufacturing log books, batch sheets, weighing printouts, labels, etc.
  4. May assist in investigations of quality issues.
  5. Maintains a QA log book in the Orange facility for all daily notes and occurrences.
  6. Inspects and releases equipment for cleanliness before manufacturing products.
  7. Assists in employee training on cGMPs, SOPs, HACCP, personal hygiene, and dress code.
  8. Must be able to work in an allergen environment including milk, eggs, shellfish, and tree nuts.
  9. Completes additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education, Training:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School Diploma (minimum).
  • First shift: 0-2 years of inspection experience in a production facility.
  • Other shifts: 1-3 years of inspection experience in a production facility.
Skills
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • General knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with all employee levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP regulations.
  • Ability to complete and legibly write forms.
  • Multi-tasking and task completion skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn company systems.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Basic math skills including percentages.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Physical and Environmental Activity
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Use of lab coats/uniforms, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and PPE as required on the production floor.
Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel required.
