Job summary

VORTEQ Coil Finishers, LLC is seeking a Quality Inspector to monitor and evaluate products for quality specs. The role involves operating lab equipment, verifying paint parameters, and ensuring adherence to production policies.

The position requires reading/writing proficiency, basic math, and willingness to work second shift with overtime as needed. Responsibilities include data entry, testing paint properties, and communicating with customers/vendors.

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and writing.
• Mathematical skills and ability to understand basic measurements.
• Comfort with a calculator and computer for data entry/lookups.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods; lift heavy materials.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Exposure to a production environment is required.
• 2+ years of quality experience in steel, coating, or manufacturing.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties to safety standards for the position.
• Work as a team with line personnel and understand line operations.
• Communicate with customers and vendors as needed.
• Operate lab equipment and learn testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot problems and respond to product needs.
• Assist line personnel in monitoring production policies and paint usage.
• Test paint properties and verify application parameters.
• Read and verify supplier Product Specification Sheets.
• Prepare Lab Data Sheets and orders for next shift.
• Label and test painted samples for color, gloss, thickness, and adhesion.
