Job summary

Vorteqcoil in Woodstock, IL is seeking a Quality Inspector to monitor and evaluate all products for quality specifications on a 2nd shift, 2pm-11pm. You will work with line personnel, operate lab equipment, and ensure compliance with production policies.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing proficiency is required.
• Mathematical skills and ability to understand basic measurements.
• Familiarity with calculator and computer for data entry and lookup.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Exposure to production environment required.
• 2+ years of quality experience preferably in steel, coating, or manufacturing.
• Bilingual preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Work as a team with line personnel and understand all line operations.
• Communicate with customers and vendors as needed.
• Operate lab equipment and learn testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot problems and respond to product needs promptly.
• Assist line personnel in enforcing production policies and verifying materials and labeling.
• Perform testing on paint properties and verify application parameters.
• Read and verify supplier Product Specification Sheets.
• Prepare Lab Data Sheets and paperwork for production runs and set up orders for next shift.
• Label painted samples for color, gloss, and other properties.
