Job summary

Matrix Project Services in the United States is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect, accept or reject work in accordance with applicable Codes and specifications. Preferred discipline is mechanical or piping, but structural, electrical, and civil may be considered.

The role requires thorough knowledge of quality systems, ability to prepare inspection reports and recommend corrective action, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ minimum experience in a craft or working under a formal Quality Management System.
• 3 years' mechanical and/or piping experience preferred.
• ACI certification preferred; other discipline-specific inspection process (e.g., AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, NACE) may be considered.
• Should be familiar with ASME Sec. VIII, Sec. IX, B31.1, B31.3, API 650/653, 1104 Codes.
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including inspection and testing techniques, quality training, and audits.
• Create inspection reports stating conditions of a work area and recommend corrective action.
• Apply knowledge of quality systems to validate and verify standards for project execution; implement performance evaluation.
• Maintain quality standards of products and procedures; align quality management with product line performance.
• Under supervision, perform assignments using standard concepts; develop advanced skills.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
