Job summary

Marotta Controls, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector II in Chaska, MN to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies. You will create inspection plans, use gauges and CMM equipment, and report inspection results to customers with shipments.

The role requires 2–5 years of test/inspection experience, GD&T knowledge, CMM programming, and ISO9001/AS9100 familiarity. You will interact with suppliers and government inspectors in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Technical school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–5 years’ experience in test and inspection in manufacturing with tight tolerance components (aerospace/defense preferred).
• Experience with GD&T, CMM, optical and other measurement tools for inspections.
• Experience programming CMMs for various mechanical components.
• Experience creating inspection plans applying GD&T for accurate measurements.
• ISO9001 / AS9100 knowledge; familiar with AQL, sampling methods and traceability.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills for multi-facet interactions with vendors, customers, etc.
• Proficient MS Office/PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Create inspection plans to ensure all drawing requirements are measured.
• Inspect products using gauges, CMM, scales, and vision before acceptance or shipment.
• Perform inspections with calipers, radius gauges, laser scanners, comparators, and measurement machines.
• Conduct dimensional and visual quality checks on received, WIP, and finished items.
• Create defect notes or NCRs for nonconforming products.
• Generate data packages and input data into quality databases.
• Reconcile inspection documentation for shipments.
• Interact with customer or US Government inspectors.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and GD&T.
