Job summary

Sundt is seeking a mid-level Quality Inspector II in construction to perform complex inspections ensuring compliance with project specs, codes, and industry standards. You will support QC staff, coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, and help implement corrective actions on-site.

The role requires accurate documentation, blueprint interpretation, and familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems. Significant field experience and proficiency with inspection tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to generate and maintain detailed records, reports, and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (OMS), including ISO 9001.
• Associate degree or vocational certification in construction technology, quality management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
• Proficient with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, weld gauges).
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AWS 01.1, AISC, ASME, API, ACI).

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and maintenance of ITPs, QCPs, and method statements.
• Conduct detailed inspections of materials, in-process work, and final deliverables.
• Document findings in project management systems, generate NCRs and CARs.
• Ensure safety and QC procedures on-site.
• Mentor entry-level inspectors.
• Oversee third-party inspections and testing services.
• Participate in root cause analysis and preventative measures.
• Review technical drawings and project specifications.
• Support internal and external audits.
