Job summary

Ellwood seeks a quality inspector to ensure parts meet exacting tolerances. The role requires at least 3 years of experience measuring parts with tight tolerances and proficiency with inspection tools such as Faro Arm and micrometers.

You will read blueprints, perform first article inspections, and initiate non-conformance actions as needed. Responsibilities include training junior staff, maintaining quality records, and ensuring safety compliance under OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience measuring parts with tolerances to +/- 0.001.
• Proficient in operating inspection equipment listed in job duties.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, SOPs, and customer/regulatory requirements.
• Experience performing first article inspections and machine set-up verifications.

Job description

Do you have the experience and desire to truly impact our end product and ensure the customer gets what they required? In addition to having a minimum of 3 years of experience measuring parts of all sizes with tolerances of +- 0.001, the right person will:

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to operate all inspection equipment such as but not limited to the following: Faro Arm, Micro Height, ID/OD micrometers, calipers
• Read and interpret blueprints, standard operating procedures, and customer/regulatory requirements and inspect parts to these documents.
• Ability to do machine set up verification and first article inspections of parts on the machines
• Initiate non-conformance reports and any other quality records required by EMW, customers, and any third party agency.
• Initiate corrective action request when conditions adverse to part quality re repetitive in nature.
• Ability to perform all job duties of lower level inspections.
• Assist in training of lower level employees.
• Perform daily and regular cleaning in work area.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of Managers, Supervisors, and Group Leaders.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
