Job summary

Ellwood Texas Forge Houston seeks a quality inspector with a minimum of 3 years experience measuring parts of all sizes to tolerances of ±0.001. The candidate will read blueprints and SOPs, inspect to requirements, and operate inspection equipment such as Faro Arm, micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities include first article inspections, initiating non-conformance and corrective action requests, training junior staff, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in alignment with OSHA procedures.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, SOPs, and customer requirements and inspect parts to these documents.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to perform first article inspections and machine set up verification.

Job description

Do you have the experience and desire to truly impact our end product and ensure the customer gets what they required? In addition to having a minimum of 3 years of experience measuring parts of all sizes with tolerances of +- 0.001, the right person will:

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to operate all inspection equipment such as but not limited to the following: Faro Arm, Micro Height, ID/OD micrometers, calipers
• Read and interpret blueprints, standard operating procedures, and customer/regulatory requirements and inspect parts to these documents.
• Ability to do machine set up verification and first article inspections of parts on the machines
• Initiate non-conformance reports and any other quality records required by EMW, customers, and any third party agency.
• Initiate corrective action request when conditions adverse to part quality re repetitive in nature.
• Ability to perform all job duties of lower level inspections.
• Assist in training of lower level employees.
• Perform daily and regular cleaning in work area.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of Managers, Supervisors, and Group Leaders.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
