Job summary

Ellwood-Texas-Forge-Houston is seeking an experienced QA Inspector to influence product quality. You will measure parts with tight tolerances, read blueprints, and perform first article inspections using precision tools.

The role requires training others, maintaining safety standards, and initiating corrective actions when issues arise, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years measuring parts with tolerances of ±0.001.
• Read and interpret blueprints, SOPs, and customer/regulatory requirements.
• Inspect parts to documents and specifications.
• Perform machine set up verification and first article inspections.
• Initiate non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
• Assist training of lower level employees.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and company protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate inspection equipment such as Faro Arm, height gauges, micrometers and calipers.
• Inspect parts in accordance with blueprints and SOPs.
• Verify machine setups and conduct first article inspections.
• Initiate NCRs and track corrective actions.
• Carry out lower level inspections and training support.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.

Job description

Do you have the experience and desire to truly impact our end product and ensure the customer gets what they required? In addition to having a minimum of 3 years of experience measuring parts of all sizes with tolerances of +- 0.001, the right person will:

• Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to operate all inspection equipment such as but not limited to the following: Faro Arm, Micro Height, ID/OD micrometers, calipers
• Read and interpret blueprints, standard operating procedures, and customer/regulatory requirements and inspect parts to these documents.
• Ability to do machine set up verification and first article inspections of parts on the machines
• Initiate non-conformance reports and any other quality records required by EMW, customers, and any third party agency.
• Initiate corrective action request when conditions adverse to part quality re repetitive in nature.
• Ability to perform all job duties of lower level inspections.
• Assist in training of lower level employees.
• Perform daily and regular cleaning in work area.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of Managers, Supervisors, and Group Leaders.
• Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
