Job summary

O-I in Lapel, Indiana is hiring a Quality Inspector to determine the quality of ware by inspecting bottles on lehr and light stations, performing cavity checks and FPX tests. The role includes tests, defect reporting, and ensuring smooth workflow through lines.

You will operate automatic inspection equipment, prepare quality reports, and share defect information with the Forming Department to support continuous improvement. This is a full-time hourly position offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Quality experience in manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bottles on lehr and light stations to determine quality.
• Operate automatic inspection equipment with minor adjustments.
• Prepare quality reports and inform Shift Foreman of defects.
• Manage defect samples and coordinate with Forming Department.
• Review job cards and limit samples to understand job quality requirements.
• Complete at least 1 HAZ-ID per month and monthly Skillsoft assignment.
