Job summary

Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures, Inc. seeks a Quality Inspector to ensure quality at all stages of manufacturing. You will inspect products using gauges and visual methods and coordinate with teams to ship on the current day's schedule. Knowledge of engineering drawings and Epicor data entry is essential.

You will read and interpret drawings, capture quality data in Epicor, follow SOPs, and maintain a safe, organized shop while communicating across departments to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or related quality experience.
• 1+ year of experience at Schaefer's; knowledge of Schaefer products and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product using gauges, calipers, tape measures and visual inspection; coordinate with team to ship today’s promised product.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Capture and document quality data and enter data in Epicor per Basic Cause Code.
• Follow quality requirements with five second checks, checklists and defect templates; own quality of all work.
• Perform tasks per manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
• Report defective materials or questionable quality; complete required paperwork (Red Tags, Recuts).
• Follow directions; work in fast-paced, team environment.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment; follow safety regulations.
• Communicate across levels; address issues to meet/exceed expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
