Quality Inspector - Electronics Manufacturing

Location: Plano, TX

Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM

Pay Rate: $23 - 25/hr

Position Description

Coverage Inspectors monitor product and material quality across various stages, including receiving, pin through-hole, surface mount components, finished PCBA, and box-level assemblies. Inspections may also include secondary and mechanical operations such as coating, potting, stamping, and painting.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of experience with electronic assembly, especially SMT and through-hole operations.
• Minimum one year in the electronics industry, either as an inspector or related role.
• Knowledge or training in hand soldering (J-STD) and IPC 7711.
• Understanding of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies).
• Working knowledge of J-STD-001 and IPC 7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair).
• Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).
• Strong communication skills for inspection reporting and defect description.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused with a drive for continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment.
• Availability to attend meetings and follow up on actions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming products or components, verifying specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests.
• Utilize inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, and CMMs.
• Inspect assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
• Perform inspections in accordance with IPC standards and organizational instructions.
• Operate visual inspection devices, including X-ray equipment if applicable.
• Record inspection data accurately in the required system.
• Follow procedures for non-conformance detection and escalation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams on defect reduction initiatives.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for systemic issues.
