Job Overview

Intertek is seeking a remote, part-time Electrical Inspector specializing in Lightning Protection for the Mid-West U.S. region. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a versatile career in inspections, focusing on lightning protection systems for buildings and structures, ensuring compliance with standards, and communicating with clients.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform inspections of lightning protection systems according to LPI, NFPA, and UL standards.
  2. Complete detailed reports of inspection findings.
  3. Assess compliance with applicable standards and communicate results.
  4. Coordinate and communicate with clients regarding inspection schedules and outcomes.
  5. Perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or electrical trades, such as installer, technician, electrician, contractor, or electrical inspector.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites, adhering to PPE requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work up to 40+ hours per week.
  • Reliable internet access.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including air and overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Additional Information

Salary ranges from $32 to $40 per hour. This is a flexible, part-time role without additional benefits. Applicants must reside in and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
