Job summary

Trinity Industries in Texas is seeking a Quality Inspector to visually and dimensionally inspect products, materials, welds and fittings to verify conformance with standards throughout the manufacturing process.

You may perform hydrostatic tests, X-ray, destructive and non-destructive examinations and work under supervision of a Level 2 inspector; safety rules apply; certification progression within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Proficiently utilize inspection tools and/or measuring equipment.
• Understand and apply quality science and tools.
• WIS/QIS Level II certification or ability to achieve within 6 months.
• Work under supervision of a Level 2 certified inspector.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and measured inspections to ensure conformance with standards.
• Inspect incoming/outgoing materials, plates, fittings and welds throughout manufacturing.
• Apply hydrostatic tests and perform X-ray, destructive and non-destructive examinations as required.
• Operate measuring instruments and inspection equipment per procedures.

Description

As a Quality Inspector at Trinity, you’ll make visual and measured inspection of products to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements. You may inspect incoming materials or plates, outgoing materials, or fittings and weld throughout the manufacturing process.

The inspector may apply singular inspection processes, such as hydrostatic tests, and perform x-ray, destructive, and non-destructive examination to verify specified dimensions, strengths, and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment. The inspector may also perform magnetic particle inspection.

Qualifications
