Contract Industrial Tooling, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to conduct in-process and final inspections of welded fabrications and assemblies to ensure customer specifications are met in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires reading blueprints, using measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers), documenting results, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards. 1+ year inspection experience and a keen eye for detail are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality system requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with measurement tools and visual inspection practices.

Responsibilities

  • Approve in-process production by verifying specifications and performing tests; communicate adjustments.
  • Approve finished products by testing, rework, and verifying rework completion.
  • Document inspection results in reports/logs and input data into the quality system (Epicor).
  • Read blueprints/instructions to understand quality expectations for products and supplies.
  • Maintain records of testing and metrics; ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Determine disposition of inspections and tagging per procedures.

Job description

The Quality Inspector conducts in-process and final inspections of fabricated weldments and assemblies to ensure that customer specifications are met.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to appropriate department manager.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurements tests; returning products for re-work; confirming rework is completed accurately
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing rework and waste; inputting data into quality database (Epicor)
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following instructions
  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics as required
  • Determines disposition of periodic inspections and tags in accordance with procedures
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Manager as required

Job Requirements

Employees are required to follow procedures, work instructions and operational processes. All employees have the responsibility to contain and immediately notify management of any nonconforming product.

This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 1+ years of quality inspection or equivalent training
  • Experience in welding manufacturing environment a plus
  • Experience using a variety of inspection equipment and procedures, including tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, PPE, etc.)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
Working Conditions / Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.
