Job summary

Oerlikon Group in Wixom, MI is seeking a hands-on operator to support manufacturing and quality processes. The role involves inspecting parts, operating coating-related tools, and collaborating across departments to sustain quality and productivity.

The candidate should be a high school graduate or GED holder with strong English communication, able to lift 44 lbs, and eager to learn. ITAR considerations apply and safety rules are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prior machine operator experience is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect customer product for processing.
• Inspect the finished product.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Learn new skills and cross-train into various departments.
• Act as a member of the monthly ‘Quality Council’.
• Visual inspection of tools for proper coating.
• Learn defixturing techniques.
• Post quantities being shipped into the computer system.
• Pack customer parts for shipping.
• Use XRF equipment to document coating thickness.
• Use various shipping software.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area following regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
