Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a qualified Quality Inspector to operate and/or program CMMs and conduct dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections on precision aerospace parts. You will perform First Piece, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring all parts meet exact customer specifications and documented procedures.

Ideal candidates have strong measurement skills, understanding of geometric tolerancing, and the ability to interpret drawings and CAD models.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Quality experience in aerospace or general manufacturing with ISO 9001/AS 9100 knowledge a plus.
• Proficient with geometric tolerancing and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure and inspect precision parts.
• Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts, First Piece layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
• Perform dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using standard documentation and procedures.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming products.
• Ensure that all parts being inspected meet customer criteria for an acceptable part.
• Inspect parts for nonconformance and follow the non-conforming product procedure.
• Use various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
