Job summary

BARNES in Warren, MI is seeking a Quality Inspector to operate and program CMMs to measure and inspect precision parts. You will perform dimensional inspections on machined parts, including First Piece layout, in-process, and final inspection, following official procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, hands-on experience in aerospace or general manufacturing, and strong math and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Quality experience in aerospace or general manufacturing environment with knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 is a plus.
• Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes, and other measuring tools.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform calculations for dimensional measurements.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills with the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection on incoming products.
• Ensure that all parts being inspected meet customer criteria for an acceptable part.
• Inspect parts for nonconformance and follow the non-conforming product procedure.
• Use various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
