Job summary

NCSL International in Wisconsin is seeking a quality inspector to read drawings and specifications, plan and perform inspections, and apply metrology expertise to ensure product quality. You will calibrate and use a variety of measuring devices and serve as a technical resource on QC processes.

You will help develop inspection plans, review documentation, and release products for shipment while assisting in training staff and resolving quality issues across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or education in metrology and related inspection/quality control.
• High degree of mechanical aptitude.
• Technical education in Quality Assurance or Engineering.
• Excellent math, language and audit skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Description

• Read and interpret drawings, specifications and procedures. Plan and perform check-piece, in-process, and final inspection as needed. Prepare, calibrate and use a variety of measuring devices. Serve as technical resource on metrology and quality control. Identify and control non-conforming product.
• Ensure that Company and customer quality and processing requirements are satisfied. Assist in developing, modifying and documenting good quality control practices and inspection plans.
• Review documentation and release product for shipment, expediting release as needed.
• Assist in training other employees in quality and inspection activities.
• Resolve quality compliance problems with Inspection personnel or other internal departments as needed.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes. Experience and/or education in metrology and related inspection/quality control is required. High degree of mechanical aptitude is required.
• Technical education in Quality Assurance or Engineering and related work experience is desired. Certification in Quality discipline is preferred.
• Excellent math, language and audit skills. Competent with standard computer software and data analysis (spreadsheet, word processing).
• Assertive team player capable of identifying problems and implementing solutions. Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
• Good communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of manufacturing and support personnel.
