Job summary

Materion in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Quality Inspector I to inspect parts against visual and dimensional customer specifications and share responsibility for final quality. The role runs reports, understands work cell priorities, and collaborates with production with a focus on on-time results and no customer returns.

1st shift: Mon-Fri, 5:00 am–1:30 pm, schedule adjustable for training. The candidate will work at our Tucson facility and must meet export compliance eligibility per ITAR/EAR; U.S.

Quality Inspector I

This role is based at our facility in Tucson, AZ

1st Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm Schedule will be adjusted for training purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct dimensional inspections
  • use sales orders to apply correct customer specifications or exceptions Read and understand part prints and tolerances, know the order of governing documents
  • Use a variety of measuring and data recording equipment, including at least micrometers (various types and sizes), profilometer, and metallographic camera
  • Prepare reports, calculate and record statistical data as needed to reflect quality status of products

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
