Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years related experience, or an Associates degree in a technical field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a machining and manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including dimensions, tolerances, and basic symbols.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to understand inspection data and explain how it correlates to the manufactured part.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and digital inspection/reporting systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Essential for accurate interpretation of indications, measurements, and technical reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate inspection results, technical findings, and non-conformances both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional, physical and visual inspection of rolled or machined and fabricated products.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges and other manual equipment to dimensionally inspect rolled or machined and fabricated products.
  • Use and program coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), laser flatness testing, surface perthometers, and other automated and computer-controlled equipment to dimensionally inspect fabricated products (training provided).
  • Perform ultrasonic or dye penetrant inspection of product for defects and report results.
  • Accurately record inspection results, as required by quality plans, to document inspection process.
  • Completes and maintains inspection documentation, required reports, and records.
  • Perform first article inspections to ensure product conformance prior to full scale manufacturing.
  • Work to meet production schedules by completing inspections on time and ensure that product is moved in a timely basis to the next work center by following the production order.
  • Complete inspections within required timeframes and move product promptly to the next work center per the production order.
  • Perform quality data gathering, charting, etc. of quality results and indicators as requested by the quality department personnel.
  • Implement and follow all corporate policies and initiatives, including those on health, safety, environmental and quality.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.
  • Assure consistent product quality through established documented production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product.
  • Identify and escalates non-conformances; support dispositioning activities under guidance of Quality Management System process.
  • Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures following the JSA procedures.
  • Maintain equipment in safe and efficient operation by working closely with maintenance department.
  • Identify preventative maintenance routines.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition following 6S standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that rolled, machined, and fabricated products meet all engineering, specification, and quality requirements. This role performs precise dimensional, visual, and non-destructive inspections using both manual tools and advanced technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Trade Compliance / Work Authorization: Due to export control regulations, this position requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor and requires ambulation. Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate. Requires physical stamina, including lifting, kneeling, and repetitive motions. The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
