Job summary

Kelly is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in West Melbourne, FL. The role involves visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of plastic, metal, and PCB assemblies to ensure conformance with customer specifications.

You will document results in real-time and support Engineers with drawings and procedures. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of inspection experience, an associated degree (electronics focus preferred), IPC-A-610 certification, and familiarity with 3D AOI machines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in electronics or related field with at least 2 years of inspection experience in high-volume contract manufacturing.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification is required.
  • Experience inspecting plastics, sheet metal, and PCB assemblies; IPC standards.
  • Familiarity with 3D AOI machines; ability to read blueprints and procedures.
  • Strong organization, communication, and computer skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of plastic, sheet metal, and electronic/electro-mechanical parts per customer specs.
  • Document quality results in real-time and enter data into internal systems/logbooks.
  • Provide feedback to Engineers and maintain drawings and procedures; inspect across production lines.
  • Inspect PCB assemblies using IPC-A-610 standards and procedures.
  • Direct products for rework and prepare documentation for first article requirements.
  • Conduct process audits and maintain ESD integrity in production.
  • Participate in training and maintain workplace cleanliness.

What’s a typical day as a Quality Control Inspector? You’ll be:
  • Performing visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of plastic, sheet metal, and electronic/electro-mechanical parts for conformance to customer specifications.
  • Documenting quality results in real-time, entering data into internal systems and logbooks.
  • Providing feedback to Engineers, obtaining and maintaining drawings and procedures, and performing inspections across various production lines as needed.
  • Inspecting printed circuit board assemblies using IPC-A-610 Standards, visual aids, BOMs, and procedures.
  • Directing products for rework and confirming completion, interfacing with source inspectors, and preparing documentation packages for first article requirements.
  • Conducting process audits, customer quality assurance, and maintaining ESD integrity in the production environment.
  • Participating in training, maintaining workplace cleanliness, and possibly training other employees.
This Job Might Be An Outstanding Fit If You:
  • Have an Associate’s Degree in a related field (electronics focus preferred) and at least 2 years of inspection experience in a high-volume, contract-manufacturing environment.
  • Hold IPC-A-600/610/620 Certification.
  • Are familiar with 3D Automated Optical Inspection (3DAOI) machines.
  • Can perform inspections following blueprints and written procedures.
  • Possess skills in using electro-mechanical tools, basic hand tools, and have ERP system experience.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Work well independently or as part of a team, and can thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Have ESD training and ISO 9001 experience (preferred).
  • Meet US Person requirements as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 due to ITAR-controlled technical data.
