Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an inspector to perform final dimensional and visual inspections on aerospace engine parts. The role requires reading blueprints, applying GD&T, and using gauges, micrometers and CMMs with PC-DMIS/MODUS where applicable.

Candidate should have 2+ years in aerospace or manufacturing inspection, and be able to interpret technical documents while maintaining strict adherence to customer specifications in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of inspection experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
  • Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints and specs.
  • Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gauges, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with CMMs using PC-DMIS and/or MODUS (desirable).
  • Experience in turbine engine repair inspections (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components.
  • Measure features and holes to verify conformance to customer requirements.
  • Inspection includes visual and dimensional using appropriate gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to meet customer criteria for acceptable parts.
  • Ensure all inspected parts meet criteria for acceptance; complete required paperwork if defects are found.

  • Previous experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in an aerospace environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, repair manuals, and customer specifications
  • Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools
  • A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
  • Proficiency in operating CMMs using PCDMIS and/ or MODUS software (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience performing incoming, in process, or final inspections in a turbine engine repair environment (highly desirable)
Position Details

1st Shift: Mon-Fri, 7am - 3:30pm

Your Challenge
  • Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components
  • Measure various features and holes on part or component and determine if the part is acceptable to customer requirements
  • Inspection includes visual and dimensional using requited gaging and measuring equipment
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints meet customer criteria for an acceptable part
  • Ensure that all parts being inspected meet criteria for an acceptable part
  • If a part is defective or needs re-work, Inspector must complete required paperwork associated with this task
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required
