Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an Inspector to perform final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts, ensuring dimensional and visual compliance with customer specifications.

You will read blueprints, operate CMMs (PC-DMIS / MODUS) and use precision gauges to verify part acceptance. A high school diploma or GED is required, and aerospace experience is a plus. This is an on-site role supporting fast-paced manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Aerospace experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read technical documents and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools.
  • Ability to document nonconforming parts and follow inspection paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection of aerospace engine parts and components.
  • Measure features and holes to determine acceptance to customer requirements.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate gauges and equipment.
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to meet customer criteria for acceptable parts.
  • Ensure all inspected parts meet required criteria and document any nonconformances.

Job description


  • 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace or general manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Previous experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in an aerospace environment

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, repair manuals, and customer specifications

  • Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools

  • A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required

  • Proficiency in operating CMMs using PCDMIS and/ or MODUS software (highly desirable)

  • Previous experience performing incoming, in process, or final inspections in a turbine engine repair environment (highly desirable)



  • Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components

  • Measure various features and holes on part or component and determine if the part is acceptable to customer requirements

  • Inspection includes visual and dimensional using requited gaging and measuring equipment

  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints meet customer criteria for an acceptable part

  • Ensure that all parts being inspected meet criteria for an acceptable part

  • If a part is defective or needs re-work, Inspector must complete required paperwork associated with this task
