Job summary

NextDeavor is seeking a Quality Inspector I in Simi Valley, CA for an onsite role on a 4/10 schedule (Mon–Thu, 5:00am–3:30pm) with first shift. You will perform visual and mechanical inspections to ensure aerospace components meet quality standards and assist in audits and corrective actions.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1–2 years’ experience, and proficiency with gauges and measurement instruments; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 1–2 years of relevant inspection or quality experience.
• Experience using gauges, calipers, torque ranges, filler gauges, lead partition gauges, and micrometers.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 aerospace quality standards.
• Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply a systematic QA approach.
• Proficiency with measurement tools and reading blueprints/parts lists.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine visual and mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Inspect soldered connections and mechanical components and generate acceptance/rejection reports.
• Prepare documentation for inspected items and participate in corrective action follow-ups.
• Maintain QA procedures and support internal audits for AS9100/ISO compliance.
• Assist in audits and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain punctual attendance and be available for variable schedules including nights or weekends as needed.

This is an onsite role on a 4/10 schedule (Monday–Thursday, 5:00am–3:30pm) working primarily first shift.### Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team- Perform routine visual inspection of soldered connections and mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies- Apply inspector process knowledge and standard procedures to execute routine tasks and acceptance/rejection reporting- Prepare documentation for inspected and tested items and participate in corrective action follow-ups- Implement and maintain technical quality assurance procedures- Inspect wires and sensors using ring gauges, calipers, torque ranges, micrometers, and other measurement tools- Support and participate in internal audits and AS9100/ISO compliance activities- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; be available for variable schedules, nights, weekends, or additional hours as necessary### Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role- High school diploma- 1–2 years of relevant inspection or quality experience- Experience using gauges, calipers, torque ranges, filler gauges, lead partition gauges, and micrometers- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and aerospace quality standards such as AS9100- Experience completing First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102- Ability to follow detailed job instructions and apply a systematic quality assurance approach- Skilled at measuring and using test equipment and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and parts lists- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)- Effective oral and written communication skills### Here's What Else Might Help You Out- Experience with a wide range of inspection tools (height gauges, pin and block gauges, V-blocks, surface inspection tables, comparators)- Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports to customer-specific requirements- Experience performing internal audits and recording results- Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish### Pay Range$18.14 - $22.68/hour### Ready to Make Your Mark?This role may fill quickly.
