Job summary

Greenpoint Technologies seeks a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to perform inspections of aircraft interior components, materials, and processes. You will verify conformance to engineering specs and FAA regulations using precision measuring tools and QA methodologies to ensure traceability.

You will generate inspection reports, complete FAA and customer certifications, and maintain FAI records per AS9102.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years or more in aircraft interior inspection or related aerospace quality role.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming products to verify documentation and conformance to purchase orders and engineering specs.
  • Inspect aircraft wiring assemblies for conformity to design specs and regulatory standards.
  • Perform receiving inspections and generate inspection reports.
  • Complete FAA and customer certification documents as required.
  • Create and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) reports per AS9102 or equivalents.
  • Verify inclusion of material and process certificates for traceability.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to describe nonconforming conditions for rejected parts.
  • Assist FAA DAR with part marking and packaging.
  • Report inspection findings, quality issues, and corrective actions to management.
  • Maintain organized work area and comply with daily housekeeping.
  • Meet target hours and schedules as directed by supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

++Summary++

Performs inspections and audits on aircraft interior components, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, FAA regulations, and company quality standards. Utilizes precision measuring instruments and quality assurance methodologies to identify defects and ensure traceability.



++Essential Duties & Responsibilities++


  • Inspects incoming products to verify proper documentation and conformance to purchase orders and engineering specifications.

  • Inspects aircraft wiring assemblies to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Performs receiving inspections and generates formal inspection reports.

  • Completes FAA and customer-required certification documents.

  • Creates and maintains First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102 or equivalent.

  • Verify inclusion of all material and process certificates for traceability.

  • Coordinates with stakeholders as required to accurately describe nonconforming conditions for rejected parts.

  • Works closely with FAA DAR. Assists as required with part marking and packaging.

  • Keeps management informed of inspection findings, quality issues, and corrective action progress.

  • Maintains a neat, organized work area and helps with the general daily housekeeping of the department.

  • Meets target hours and completes schedules as set by Supervision.

  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

++Summary of Education, Experience & Certification++

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated skills required. Minimum of three years’ experience in aircraft interior inspection or related aerospace quality role.


This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a \"safety-sensitive\" position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances.


US Person Required - this position requires special access. A US Person is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.



++Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities++


  • Ability to lead personnel and have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the department.

  • Working knowledge of various measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.

  • Familiar with Quality and inspection concepts and processes.

  • Ability to read blueprints, pack slips, invoices, and other customer supplied data.

  • Ability to read measuring instruments.

  • Familiar with engineering programs.

  • Capability to determine sample size for lots.

  • Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.

  • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to coordinate and handle multiple priorities within deadlines and take initiative to produce results with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally).

  • Familiarity with AS9100 preferred.

  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.



++Physical Requirements++


  • Ability to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently; up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to reach overhead.

  • Ability to work in a non-dust-free environment.

  • Ability to pass Jaeger J-1 in at least one eye, natural or corrected (20/25 vision) for near vision acuity and shall be capable of adequately distinguishing and differentiating colors used in the process involved.

  • Full range of motion with both hands.

  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.



The expected WA salary range for this position is between $51,000.00 - $70,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
